Many tourists who have visited the Turkish state at least once would like to stay in the country for several months or years. The legislation of the jurisdiction gives the right not to leave the borders of Turkey to foreigners in 2023 for a period of 30 to 90 days, depending on the country of residence. Thus, Russian citizens are allowed to vacation without a visa for 60 days in a row or 90 days (in total for six months of stay). Citizens of Ukraine, Lithuania, Georgia, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Moldova can stay for 90 days within 180 days.

In order not to count the days until the end of the permitted period of legal stay, many citizens seek to obtain a residence permit in Turkey, which can subsequently be extended, including indefinitely.
